Installation Steps

Combined with our installation video and our cable installation guide or mat installation guide, follow the following steps when installing a True Comfort floor heating system.

STEP 1

  • Determine the location of the thermostat
  • Make sure that the installation surface is smooth and clean
  • Re-verify the measurements of the area to be covered
  • Check the cable or mat’s resistance using an ohmmeter
  • Review the installation steps prior to beginning the installation
  • Read the important installation guidelines

STEP 2

  • Prepare the installation layout
  • Install the gauges and cable or unroll the mat
  • Photograph the installation

STEP 3

  • Install the floor sensor
  • Fish the cold lead to the connection box
  • Check the cable or mat’s resistance using an ohmmeter

STEP 4

  • Cover the cable or the mat*
  • Check the cable or mat’s resistance using an ohmmeter

STEP 5

  • You can now install your floor covering**

* Depending on the type of floor covering that you will be installing, you can either cover the cables with a polymer-modified mortar or with polymer-modified self-levelling underlayment.
**Before turning your system on it is important to respect the adhesive manufacturer's recommended adhesive curing time. Curing time may vary from 7 to 28 days. Consult the technical datasheet supplied by the manufacturer of the adhesive product you are using.
